Social Studies

Social Studies is taught by Ms. McMillan. Ms. McMillan likes to teach us about history and geography, then connects it back to current events. My best work in this class is probably the C-Span StudentCam competition. In this competition, we were tasked with creating a video that expresses what we believe is the most important thing our elected president should accomplish when he/she takes office.

My group decided to make a video about the dangers of food waste and what our president can do to prevent it. I believe that this was one of my best pieces of work this year because I worked hard on this for a couple of months with my team and we worked on it outside of school a lot by going to local food vendors and supermarkets to interview them about how food waste affects them and what they cando to prevent this.
