Science

Science is a big focus at AdVENTURE. This year, I was taught science by Ms. Johnson. The project that I feel reflects my best work in this class is the roller coaster project. In this project, we used physics to design a marble roller coaster. In order to build the roller coaster, we used factors such as velocity, acceleration, gravity, and energy to calculate how we can build our roller coaster so that the marble keeps moving and completes the course, while also including thrilling features such as loops, corkscrews, and drops.

I feel like this is one of my best pieces of work because I used the topics I learned in class to design something and I was very creative with the way we created the roller coaster. I also worked outside of class with my team in order to finish the roller coaster because we tried to make it as dynamic and thrilling as possible.Though it took a lot of trial and error to finally figure out how we can make it work consistently, in the end, it was worth it and we made a product that I am very proud of.

Another piece of work that I am proud of in this class is my science blog. At AdVENTURE, we update our blog every week as a weekly assignment. In our blog, we describe what we learned about that week and what we accomplished.
