Math

This year, Math was taught by Ms. Hogen-Esch. I think that my best work in this class was the urban village project. In this project, we were challenged to reimagine our school as an urban village that would be a hub for education, entertainment, and community. In Math, we needed to use what we had learned that year to create blueprints for a school that fits the theme of an urban village. Our blueprints had specific requirements and constraints, including a budget of 15 million. In order to calculate whether we met the requirements, we needed to use our knowledge of area to figure out the square footage of specific buildings.

I think that this work represents some of my best work because my group and I worked hard to create an urban village that met all of the requirements but still offered a creative solution to create an inviting environment for students to enjoy learning. We also brainstormed many different buildings that would make school fun for students and the community, including a movie theater, arcade, and trampoline park. We also created a food court with 10 different restaurants that would ensure students can get a variety of healthy, delicious foods. We spent a lot of time and effort making our school a great place that encourages education, entertainment, and more!
